Living in Metro Verde
Metro Verde is a master planned community in northeast Las Cruces and one of the places where you can watch new streets go in. Phases open over time, so at any given moment there can be finished homes ready to move into on one street and homes still being framed a few blocks away.
The homes
Expect newer single story and some two story homes from more than one local builder, with modern open floor plans, energy features that come standard on current construction, and community parks and walking paths that were part of the plan from the beginning rather than added later.
Getting around
Highway 70 is the main route out of the northeast, connecting you to Interstate 25 and the rest of the city, and the drive east toward the Organ Mountains and the pass starts here too. Shopping on the east side along Lohman and Telshor is a short trip.
What to check before you buy in Metro Verde
- Which builder built the home and what is left of its warranty, if it is a resale.
- Whether the community has an HOA or special assessments, and what they pay for.
- What is planned for empty land nearby: another phase, a park, or commercial lots.
- On a brand new home, which features are standard and which were paid upgrades, before you compare prices.

Can I buy a brand new home in Metro Verde?
Usually, yes. With phases still opening there are often homes under construction or newly finished. Inventory changes month to month, so Juan checks what is actually available before you drive out.
Should I bring my own agent to a Metro Verde model home?
Yes, on your first visit. The model home sales team works for the builder. Many builders only register your own agent if they are with you or named the first time you sign in.
Is Metro Verde only new construction?
No. As the first phases age, resale homes come up too, and they can be a good way to get a newer home with landscaping and window coverings already done.
